Dr. Alyson K. Amerson

Welcome to my practice! I've handpicked every member of my team to serve you and your family well. I look forward to meeting you and getting to know you at your first visit. Here's some information about me…

I was born and raised in Trotwood, Ohio, and I attended Wright State University in Fairborn. There, I earned my bachelor's degree in accounting and finance – back in 1998. I decided to enter dental school and finished my DDS at The Ohio State University, College of Dentistry, in 2004. Dental school allowed me the opportunity to explore many aspects of the profession, including pedodontics (working with children) and geriatrics (working with senior citizens). My commitment to education is ongoing. I take many CEs every year because dentistry constantly evolves, clinically and technologically. Recently, I earned my master's degree in public health from Benedictine University.

After graduation, I learned some invaluable skills and had a wonderful experience as a resident at Veteran's Administration in Dayton. During my residency, I worked with minor to complex dental cases and developed an interest in public health dentistry. Shortly thereafter, I moved to Lima and began working at Allen County Health Partners, where I stayed on staff until 2007.

I went into private practice, Burns Dental, in 2007 and have thoroughly enjoyed becoming a part of this community. The dear people who are my patients give me so many reasons to smile! I also like supporting local youth groups and community events.

Registered Dental Hygienist - Jenna Correll

I was born in Delphos, OH and have lived there my entire life. I attended Delphos St. Johns High School and graduated in 2005. I made my decision early to become a dental hygienist and attended James A Rhodes State College in Lima, OH and earned my associate’s degree in applied sciences, majoring in dental hygiene, in 2008. I started working for Dr. Amerson in December of that year to present. What I love about dental hygiene field is that each patient is a potential mystery to be solved, and once its solved, you get an awesome smile as a reward.

Dental Assistant – Heather Zimpfer

I was born in Jellico, TN and moved to Ohio in 2002. In 2002, I went to Hondros Business College in Fairborn, Oh and obtained a real estate certificate. In 2004, I attended the Upper Valley JVS in Piqua, OH and took dental assistant classes and in 2007 I obtained my radiography license. I am married and have a daughter. What I love about being a dental assistant is meeting each patient and furthering my education in the field.

Registered Dental Hygienist - Lisa Ignarski

I am a 1987 graduate of Elida High School. After graduating from Elida, I attended Lima Technical College, now known as Rhodes State, and graduated in 1990 with an associate degree in applied science. My major was dental hygiene. I worked in Lima my first year after graduation, then moved to Cincinnati, OH for 8 years. I was able to attend several Red’s baseball and cyclone hockey games. I lived only 10 minutes from the Red’s stadium which was awesome. I returned to Lima in 1999 to be back around friends and family. I took 5 years off to start a family and have been blessed with a 9 year old son and a 6 year old daughter. I enjoy being back and working as a hygienist. I am able to meet so many people and help them with their dental health.

Front Office Receptionist/Dental Assistant - Melissa Burns

I was born and raised in Trotwood, Ohio. My interest in the dental field began when I was 16, and started assisting at an office in Dayton, Ohio. After graduating from high school, I tried different career fields, such as in the hospitality field and in the factory industry. I then realized that the dental field is where I wanted to be. Now I am currently taking the necessary steps to further my career in this exciting field of study. I am a proud mother of 2 children, a son who is 9 and a daughter who is 7 months. What I love most about the dental field is meeting new people and helping them to get that beautiful smile they want, need, and deserve.

Front Office Receptionist-Sedeka Williams

I am born and raised in Lima, Ohio. Never worked in the dental before 2006 when I first began working with Dr. Alyson Burns-Amerson at Allen County Health Partners for 2 years. In 2009, I started as her receptionist here at Burns Dental. I am a very happy wife of 10 ½ years, a bless mother of a 14 year daughter, 10 year old son, and 10 year old daughter. What I love most about being a team member of Burns Dental Inc., is meeting new people, and being the first person to meet and greet all the patients as they come into our office.
